The following sections describe some, though far from all, of the many fine products available at Aphrodite's Dove. Looking for something special? Come in and browse, or give us a call. If we don't have it we can probably special order it for you.

Candles

We carry a wide array of candles in unscented, scented, and Reiki charged varieties. We are particularly pleased to carry a variety of petroleum-free candles. Most of our candles are available in a variety of types ranging from tea lights and votives to pillars and jar candles. We also plan on offering a selection of hand crafted candles for a variety of purposes, made by our own staff members!

Incense

We carry a variety of hard-to-find incenses in stick, cone, resin, and kneaded varieties. For the resin we carry quality charcoal d discs. For those with allergies or sensitive smoke alarms, we maintain a very wide selection of Japanese stick incenses which are pure resins and produce very little smoke.  In the near future we also plan to begin carrying hand-crafted incense blends, made for both purpose and scent on premises by our staff!

The perfect accompaniment to any incense is the right holder or burner. We carry a wide variety of burners for every incense type; we even have wooden stick incense boxes that double as holders!

Stones & Crystals

We pride ourselves in having an extensive array of stones & crystals, including some that are extremely hard to find or otherwise rare. Some of our stones and crystals are available "raw", others only set in pendants (see Jewelry). We have, however, attempted to stock as wide a variety as possible in tumbled or small specimen form in order to make even the rarer stones affordable.

Jewelry

In addition to a wide selection of stone pendants, including some extremely rare stones, we carry a variety of jewelry lines in various price ranges. We carry "The Earwrap," an earring that goes around the ear and looks like you are wearing 2-6 different earrings without needing any piercings or the discomfort of clips. Our Earwraps are made by a local artist. We are also well informed about metal sensitivities and can provide alternate hooks.  Our jewelry tends to have spiritual and/or religious symbols and designs, but we do offer some fashion jewelry.

It should also be noted that we still have plenty of jewelry in our 50% OFF Clearance section.

Sound Tools

We carry Tibetan singing bowls, crystal singing bowls, tuning forks, tingshas, chimes, bells, drums, rattles, & more.

Books

Our goal for our book collection is to provide the most comprehensive collection of books on metaphysics, spirituality, and religion in the area.  We also accept book requests, so if you're looking for something that's particularly hard to find, there's a good chance we can get it for you.

Tarot & Divination

We stock one of the widest selections of tarot decks in the mid-Atlantic region; we keep a complete copy of each deck available for inspection, not just three or four cards. Besides decks, we have an expert Tarot reader available by appointment. She also holds classes to help you learn basic and advanced reading techniques.

We carry Rune sets in both Anglo-Saxon and Elder Futhark crafted by local artists on stone, wood, and glass.

We have an assortment of stone spheres for divination or decorative use. Clear quartz, Selenite, Azurite/Malachite and others are available.

Ritual Supplies

We have everything from prayer beads to pentacles, athames, wands, chalices and more.  We're always searching for new ways to incease both the quality and quantity of our ritual supply stock, particularly in regards to hand-crafted ritual supplies.  As with some of our other categories, we also plan on offering store-made ritual supplies...at an affordable price, no less!  Keep your eyes peeled for our hand-made products in the coming months!

Feng Shui

Everything you need to arrange your life and space according to the principles of Feng Shui that isn't too largefor our small store is here. This includes Bagua Mirrors, Money Toads, hanging chimes and tassels, and much more. We also have a Beginner's Feng Shui class coming up!

Bags & Boxes

We have locally handmade bags and pouches for holding everything from stones to Tarot decks to Smokin' Bottles. We also carry various sculpted ceramic and wooden boxes.

Art

Greek, Egyptian, Celtic, and other Gods & Godesses show up along with Angels and Faeries in the form of statues, prints, and fabric art.  We take particular interest in local artists: we have artwork you'll find no where else but in our store!   

Media

Music, instructional, meditation, and more, in CD, VHS, & DVD.  We carry a wide variety of artists, ranging from folk rock to classical mantra and meditation.  Also, we take requests.  Come in and have a listen; we'll play anything we have for you.  All you need to do is ask!

Botanical

We carry a limited selection of very high quality herbs in stock. In order to maintain the highest standards of freshness and potency, most of our herbs must be special ordered.  If it's a plant, odds are we can get it for you.

For processing the herbs, we sell mortar & pestle sets. for use, particularly in burning, the resin incense burners we have are generally appropriate.

Oils

Pure essential oils, including some very hard-to-find oils, can be found on our shelves. Diluted essential oils and magical oil blends are also available here.  We're working on collecting recipes and creating our own for our own line of oil blends for ritual, medicinal, and fragrance use.  

We also carry aromatherapy mists, sprays, massage oils, soaps, and lotions all crafted with the finest essential oils. Whether you're looking for a scent to keep you calm through stressful days or something to help you connect to a higher plane, we have the scents for you!

We also carry various oil diffusers that are appropriate for essential, lended, and diluted oils.

Greeting Cards

We carry spiritual and artistic greeting cards in standard, extra-large, and exta-long postard sizes. The extra-large cards are often purchased as art prints instead of being mailed.

Gift Cards

Our Gift Cards are available in any amount. Our Gift Cards have no monthly charges eating up your balance, and they never expire. The perfect gift for a special person, or for yourself.  With all we have in stock, a gift card is a perfect idea!
